Date Night: Origami

We recently went for a date night at the first Origami location in Minneapolis.  I love that they maintained the space through the years and, rather than trading up for a larger venue, have a second floor bar and seating to mirror the first.  I think that is wonderfully charming.

Rory ordered the Ebi Shumai shrimp dumplings for an appetizer.  They were incredible!  Thinking about them now makes me crave them and then realize they are only available for dinner.  Patience.

We ordered a platter of sushi in addition to the NY! NY! roll and a salmon roll.   The addition of green apple bits to the NY! roll was a clever nod to both the namesake and to our own Mini-Apple.  Maybe I am anticipating what to eat for lunch right now, but writing about our dinner at Origami has me craving another visit very soon!

  1. We love Origami… Although they went through a stagnant period. Good to know that they might be trying new things again, it may be worth a revisit on our next date night!
